Smokey Eyes with ELF Smokey Eye Kit + Review

( I used UDPP for the base along with MAC Prep and Prime Eyes. I also used Shu Uemura Drawing Pencil in White under #1.. I didn't used mascara since I find that my lashes aren't in their best condition right now.)

(Here's what is inside the kit.)

I really liked the Eyeshadow quad since the colors are so pigmented.. love the #3 it's just so pretty and quite unique... However, the #1 is tad too powdery than the rest of the e/s...#2 reminds me of MAC's Black Tied.. They're really comparable, but this one has a bit of a metallic finish.. over all this is a good quad.. it also comes with a sponge applicator and a small mirror.. I'll definitely rebuy this quad by itself... 8/10.

The Eyeliner is kinda bad since it isn't soft and creamy at all...It's not pigmented too! This doesn't even stained my waterline...I'll probably just use this for my brows...2/10.

The duo mascara is really good..it separates, lengthens, and doesn't clump ever even with soo much coats...However, it doesn't volumize...It's also great that one end is a regular mascara while the opposite end is waterproof...I'll rebuy this mascara anytime!...8/10.

This eyelash curler didn't worked out for me, but I wouldn't say it's bad, since I've really tried tons of curlers that are a hundred times worse...It didn't pinched my eyes at all but it just didn't fit my eyes, so it couldn't curl the base of my lashes...Won't rebuy...5/10.

Smudger...hmm...nothing special just your regular sponge smudger...It is my first sponge smudger that didn't came along with an eyeliner...I might rebuy...6.5/10.

BB Cream..

Can anyone suggest a BB Cream for me? I need a medium to full coverage one and good in controlling oil... It would be a major plus if it contains spf though I'm not necessarily looking for a BB cream with spf coz I'll still use a separate sun production product anyway...And if it's possible could you also post a link to where I could buy some..btw I live in the Philippines...I'm soo desperate to find a good for the skin, skin regimen, since my skin is not soo good right now..

BB Cream Craze!

I'm joining in the BB Cream Craze! Just a few minutes ago I placed an order for several BB Creams. I ordered a Missha M BB Cream Silver Tube, Skin79 Super+ Beblesh Balm SPF 25 PA++ Pink Oil Free, and BRTC Perfect Recover Balm... I'll update you guys with the orders and I def use them immediately once I get my hands to the BB Creams, so I can review and compare the products... And if you guys have a BB Cream or other products you want me to review just tell me.. okay? I'll do my best to get those products. Also if you have samples of the products that you're willing to send to me for a review, that would be great!

*I feel the all the pigments in the warm pigment set looks alike and just like different shades of gold so I opted for the cool pigments for more variety and it's really pretty!

MAC HAUL- TEASER & OVERVIEW

These are basically what I got from MAC yesterday - this picture is missing an item, since I forgot to take it out. UPDATE: Clinique pore minimizer instant perfector

I've been using the Clinique pore minimizer instant perfector (CPMIP) for quite a while now, and it's great! It made my skin less oily, and it didn't break me out. I felt my skin was smoother and silkier, so no need for a primer! I normally use Smashbox Photo Finish Light(SPFL) as my primer, but when I started using CPMIP, I felt that there's no need for the primer, since the effects of the SPFL and CPMIP are similar. Now there's less products to buy, and it's like hitting two birds with one stone! BTW it does minimizes the appearance pores too!

I've heard so much rumors, about MAC and Hello Kitty collaborating to create a new collection, since the past 4 months. While I was checking out www.temptalia.com look what I found!

Yup, it's confirmed! MAC + Hello Kitty = holes in our pockets! LOL!

Based on the article I've read it will be released internationally on March of 2009, based on the release dates of previous collections here in the Philippines, I'm assuming it will be available here late April or early May of next year. I'm so excited!

MAC Holiday Collection - What I Am Getting / Teaser

Here's a list of the things I'll get-most are from the MAC Holiday Collection 2008:

*Brush 188 - I already have 187 both travel size and full size versions. I feel I am wasting too much foundation with 187 since its big and it's quite difficult to put the liquid foundation in all the hairs, so I'll get the 188. I'll just use my 187 as a blush/powder brush, since the size is perfect for the apples of my cheeks!

I've already asked the MAC MA I know to reserve these items for me, and she agreed to hold these items for me until I get it on the 26th; so most probably I'll be posting my haul/review on the 27th (we don't have classes at the 27th) or Saturday of that week.

MAC Holiday Collection

I've just contacted the MA from MAC- Rustan's Makati, and it's official! The MAC Holiday Collection is now available to all MAC counters here in Manila! The Adoring Carmine brush sets costs 3800 pesos, the Adoring Carmine Red/Rose/Neutral Lips set costs 2600 pesos, the Little Darlings Lipglass sets costs 2300 and SoftSparkle eye pencils set cost 2300 pesos!

Contest Update

So far there are two people who joined the contest- Paula* and MaryJoyce. Guys and gals, you can still join the contest- my first contest, since there's still a long way to go before the deadline. And I've decided that every one who will join or who joined the contest will receive a little something from me. Rustans's Haul

I also went to Rustan's yesterday to get my feet done in their nail salon and to buy some skin care products and makeup.

FROM CLINIQUE:

I've been using super city block with spf 40 for four years now, and I love it. It's oil free and it doesn't break me out, nor does it make my face oilier. Gals and guys please, please, please never leave the house without sun protection, unless you want your skin to be damaged and look old for your age. I bought derma white liquid makeup since it contains spf 15, it's oil free, doesn't break me out, long-lasting, and it's advertised to give you a brighter skin with prolonged usage. It provides just a moderate coverage. There are days that my acne scars look worse so if I need additional coverage, I just layer my mineral foundation on top. I don't use cream concealer frequently since it worsen my blemishes; and when I use my mineral foundation / powder foundation, the spots where I would put concealer on would look cakey and just dead-on weird. But I do use liquid foundation for undereyes, but not on blemishes, since parts of my skin with blemishes tend to be dry and bit flaky. I also use mineral powder concealer for the undereye too. I haven't tried the instant perfector, but I've heard that it works wonderfully in keeping the oil out of your skin. I'll just update you guys once I've tried it.


I've also received a Gift with Purchase from Clinique! This includes a floral cosmetic pouch, rinse-off foaming cleanser mousse, high impact mascara, eyeshadow duo in strawberry fudge, moisture surge extended thirst relief moisturizer, all about eyes rich, and an eyelash curler. The GWP I received contains generous amount of products. I've tried the moisture surge and all about eyes rich and I love it! Moisture surge is so light weight, non-greasy, great for oily skin as well, and only needs a little product to moisturize the whole face. I've used the all about eyes rich last night and when I woke up, there's no puffiness and my undereyes skin is smoother, and I just can't explain in words the improvement in just one use! Again, all about eyes rich is meant to be used sparingly. I'll purchase these stuff when I ran out of these, but I don't think it would be anytime soon since the size of what they give as GWPs are a lot, it can last me for months. The eyelash curler is one and the same thing as the Revlon one, and unfortunately, it doesn't curl my lashes well. I also own the Revlon one, and it's just a crappy as this one. Shu Uemura Curler is still the best! I'll just update again when I've tried the other stuff too.

FROM MARIO BADESCU:

While I was roaming around Rustan's I found the Mario Badescu shelves and got myself the Drying Lotion, this was the one that made Mario Badescu famous. I was quite surprised that Mario Badescu got its way to our shores. The sales assistant also gave me two samples each of Botanical Facial Gel and AHA Botanical Body Soap. The Drying Lotion works great! I have a huge pimple last night, and I treated it with the Drying Lotion. Earlier today when I looked at the morror, it was 80% gone! There was just a teeny-weeny bump that isn't even noticeable. I haven't tried the body and facial soaps, I'll just update again once I've tried it.

FROM NARS:

I've purchased a Nars lipgloss in Turkish Delight, which is a a creamy baby pink gloss. The color is really pretty and yummy. When I was browsing the NARS counter, this gloss caught my eye. It's non-sticky and lightweight. One of my fave lipgloss as well. Really a good stuff! I've also heard that Kim Kardashian use this as her everyday lipgloss/color. Sorry but the pictures doesn't do it justice!

Beauty Bar Haul

Here's are the things I got from Beauty Bar: Prestige Lipsticks ( in Glitz, Risque, and Wicked), Skin Alison Raffaelie Soft Gloss in Demure, and Smashbox Single Eyeshadow in Smashing Snow.

First up is the Smahbox Single Eyeshadow in Smashing Snow. It's a shimmery white color, it's quite powdery but it's smooth and pigmented. It's pretty eyeshadow, and it's quite different from the other shimmery white eyeshadow. I got this for just 425 pesos.

Next is the Skin Alison Raffaele Soft Gloss in Demure. It's a creamy peachy pink gloss. It's not sticky and smells like real vanilla or white chocolate, unlike the synthetic vanilla scent in other glosses which are icky! However, it doesn't last long-  btw I haven't found a "regular" gloss that's long lasting. One of my fave gloss. From the original price of 1100 pesos, I got this for a measly 437.25 pesos!

These are the Prestige lipsticks in Risque, Wicked, and Glitz. Prestige offers beautiful shades of lipsticks in affordable price. A tube just cost 295 pesos! It's long lasting, moisturizing, and light weight. The ones I bought have a pearly finish; but other finishes are offered as well. I found two set backs with these lippies: first, I can't apply it with a lip brush, instead of placing colors to my lips, the lipstick clings to the brush instead. It also doesn't fill-in the lines of your lips, so you need to work the lipstick more to your lips. Risque is a natural rosy color. Wicked, OMG is so beautiful! It's my perfect red lip color! I really looks good on me, plus I love the pearly finish. It reminds me of Viva Glam IV from MAC, but leans on a burgundy, wine, and reddish tone rather than the pinkish rosy tone. Glitz is a beige pink color. The color is not similar to the bottom of the tube. When you put on Glitz it's like a retro pink, and a great partner for Oyster Girl Lipglass.
