Review: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

If you've been following this blog for awhile, you've probably already know that I've been loving neutral eyeshadows lately, so there's no way I'll miss the chance to get a hold of this palette!

But to be honest, when I got this I wasn't sure if I would love this as much as I loved the Original Naked palette. However, when I swatched it and played with it, I was blown away! I just liked how it looked against my skin and it's confirmed! I love this as much as I love the Original Naked palette!

I liked how they change the packaging material from cardboard to tin, but I'm liking how it looks like a pencil case. But I still like the packaging of this than its predecessor. Another change I liked is the addition of a double side brush, a crease/blending brush on one side and a flat shadow brush on another. One change I didn't like is they included a mini Lip Junkie instead of a mini Primer Potion. I just didn't care for the Lip Junkie! It's so sheer it just looked like a clear gloss with a bith of shimmer on my lips.

As far as the quality of these shadows goes, Urban Decay still gives you fantastic quality! The eyeshadows are are pigmented and binds to the skin nicely. The only down side is that some of the eyeshadows will have glitter fallouts. But overall the quality is still above average. I hope they repeated the "Naked" or "Buck" shade instead of "Half Baked". As for the color selection, this palette features more cooler shades as Urban Decay calls it "griege" compared to the Original Naked palette. I love Snake Bite, Suspect, and Verve! Do check out the swatches below!

Do you still need this even if you have the Original Naked? Well, if you love neutral eyeshadows like I do, the answer is a big YES! You need this in your life! But if not you're a neutral eyeshadow junkie like I am, then I guess just having one of the naked palette would do. If you ask me whivk naked palette I prefer, sorry but I can't answer that because I both love them the same!

By the way, stay tuned for my valentine's day look tutorial featuring this palette!

Something New: Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

Yup! I got the new Urban Decay Naked2! I'm liking the new packaging since it's more sturdy and shut close. I also love the brush included though I would have prefer that they included a mini udpp rather than a mini lip junkie. A more concrete review plus swatches and comparison with the original Naked palette to follow!

New Year Look EOTD

Sorry for the lack of post last month. November and December are always the most hectic months for me and my family. Aside from being the peak season for our restaurant, I had to go on several trips abroad too and of course there's med school!

Any way, I want to greet everybody a Happy New Year!

Let me share a look which I wore on New Year's Eve! I did a classic holiday look. Neutral and gold eyeshadows (matte brown on the crease, shimmery golden taupe on the lid, and matte skintone eyeshadow as highlight) then I lined both my upper and lower rims with black pencil liner, then I created a cat eye with a liquid liner then finishing it with 2 coats of volumizing mascara. Another go to for the holiday season is red lips, so I went for it, anyway, my eye makeup is on the neutral color palette. To finish the look I just dusted a matte bronzer on the cheeks.

Products I used:
For the eyes:
• Urban Decay Primer Potion
• Make Up ForEver Eyeshadow #93
• Loreal Infallible Color Eyeshadow in Sahara Treasure
• Laura Mercier Vanilla Nuts Matte Eyeshadow
• Stila Smudgestick in Stingray
• Loreal Liquid Liner in Carbon Gloss
• Maybelline VolumExpress Colossal Mascara in Glam Black

For the cheeks:
• Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder #01

For the lips:
• Mentholatum Clear Lip Balm
• MAC Viva Glam I

Singapore Haul Part 2

Hello!
You've seen part 1 of my Singapore haul, which consisted of the things I bought from Sephora.
Now, here's part 2!
These are some of the items I bought from Robinson's Department Store at Raffles City Shopping Center and Duty Free, of course!

From Robinson's Department Store at Raffles City.
  • I got L'oreal Perfect Clean Foaming Gel Wash. I wanted to try this mainly because of the scrublet, and it has mainly positive reviews. I've using this and so far I'm liking it! I really hope L'oreal would bring this here in the Philippines, as I could see alot of Filipinos would benefit from and like it!
  • ZA Two Way Foundation. ZA was on 20% off and I like the Majolica Majorca two way powder foundation, since ZA is also a subsidiary of Shiseido like Majolica Majorca so I bought one. I got the powder refill plus case for just around 700 pesos! Not bad!
From Duty Free (Changi Airport)
  • Chanel Rouge Coco Shines
  • Chanel Le Vernis
  • Bath and Body Works Anti-Bacterial Lotion

Closer look!
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy, Romance, Elise, and Bonheur.

Chanel Le Vernis in Peridot

Chanel cosmetics are so much cheaper there, I wished I've bought more!

AND DON'T FORGET TO JOIN MY GIVEAWAY ALRIGHT?!

Singapore Haul Part 1

Hey guys!

Before anything, I want to remind you guys to join my giveaway!

You probably know already that I had a short vacation in Singapore.
The first on my checklist for my things to do in Singapore is....
You guessed it right!
It is to visit Sephora!
How can I not not visit Sephora, right?!
Skipping it would be a crime! (Well, for us MU addicts! it is!)
I visited all three branches in Marina Bay Sands, Ngee Ann City, and ION.

As expected, the prices of Sephora in Singapore is higher than US, but still it didn't stopped me from shopping! (Yeah, you know me hahaha)
Though my guilt was lessened, because I got 120 SGD voucher/discount plus 7% tax refund!
So the price difference is not so bad after all.
(I also noticed the branch in Marina Bay Sands has lower prices in some of the items, I dunno why.)
There are also some items I bought that I can't show in this post, because I'll giving them as gifts to friends. I hope you understand.

Well, enough of the blabbing! (I'll reserve the blabbing to my upcoming travel post! haha)
Here are the stuff I got from Sephora!

Here's the overview of the stuff!
Yeah, I finally caved in and bought Clarisonic Mia!
My sister and I agreed to share, so that's the reason why I finally bought one!

Here's a closer look of the things I got!
Sephora Brand Items:
I bought 5 perfume sprays. My favorite is the brown one, because it smells like chocolate! Yummy!
I got a chocolate scented hand wash. It smells so good I want to eat it!
Then I bought 2 Mattifying Powder Foundation.
I also bought the Mineral Powder Brush (not included in the picture because I already used it and it's dirty at the time I took these photos)
The cute acrylic bathtub bearing the Sephora name was a freebie!
Products for the hair:
Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo
Fekkai Luscious Curls Shampoo and Conditoner
Soap and Glory products:
The Righteous Butter
Hand Food
Fresh products:
Brown Sugar roll-on fragrance
Sugar Lip Treatment in Original, Passion, and Rose
Urban Decay products:
Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer
De Slick Oil Control Spray
Extra Clarisonic Brush Head
Jack Balck Lip Balm in Mint and Lemon
Boscia Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 15 (Mini size)

There a couple of thing I also got, so...
Stay tuned for part 2 of my Singapore haul!

Weekend Savings: Garnier Light Instant Fainess BB Eye Roll-On

If there's something I've learned in more than 2 years of blogging is that LOW PRICE doesn't necessarily equate to LOW QUALITY products. Through the years of being a beauty addict, I've been disappointed by a lot of products may it be high end or low end ones, but before the products that has given me the worst impressions are drugstore products.

Drugstore beauty products have been given a bad rap, because years ago drugstores have been plagued by inferior beauty and skincare items. But, Lo and behold! Things are changing for the better! I've been seeing a lot of beauty and skincare products that have potential and exceeded my expectations but doesn't break the bank.

I know everybody's trying to cut back on the expenses nowadays, and some who even used to buy high end beauty products are now opting for mid range and inexpensive ones due to financial constraints. I, for one, used to avoid drugstore skincare because the ones I've tried before wrecked havoc in my skin instead of improving it. I also used to stay away from drugstore makeup because the quality used to be inferior, and instead of saving I would just have a useless product; hence, wasted money! Not anymore! With most drugstore brands reformulating and coming out of new products, the drugstore is not anymore a place to be avoided for the search of good beauty and skincare products.

I want to show you guys that the price of beauty doesn't need to be expensive, and you don't have to sacrifice beauty! So I came up a weekly segment, called "Weekend Savings," where I'll be featuring inexpensive products that performs! I'll try to feature a product once a week, and if you guys want to try a certain product or you would want me to review something for you guys feel free to comment or email me or leave a message on my message box on the side of my blog.

My first feature in my Weekend Savings segment is

Garnier Light Instant Fairness BB Eye Roll-On

I ran out of my Laura Mercier Undercover Pot, and I'm not willing to shell out money for an expensive undereye concealer as of late, because I'm saving for my out of the country trip next month. I've watched youtube gurus raving about this product, and it's very much hyped so it's just natural that it would be the first thing I'd try.

And I'm pleased to report that it didn't disappoint!

Not only did it brightened up my undereyes, but it covered the darkness of my undereye circles!
It's lightweight and doesn't crease. It has a good staying power. I usually apply this around 7 in the morning and it's still there when I come home 6 in the evening.
With or without setting powder it stayed on.
Another thing I liked is it does decrease the puffiness of my undereye circles, and the cold metal roller ball feels soothing.
The best part is it only costs around 220 pesos (around $4)!
My only wish is that they come up with more shades, so our sisters and brothers with fairer or darker skintones could enjoy the product too.

Here's a swatch:

I'm so satisfied with this product that I won't be buying other undereye concealer anytime soon!

So how about you guys?
Have you tried this? Share your thoughts.
Do you use any affordable products that performs well?
Do you want me to review a certain product?
Feel free to comment below!

Have a great day everyone!
