Something New: Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

Yup! I got the new Urban Decay Naked2! I'm liking the new packaging since it's more sturdy and shut close. I also love the brush included though I would have prefer that they included a mini udpp rather than a mini lip junkie. A more concrete review plus swatches and comparison with the original Naked palette to follow!

Sorry for the lack of post last month. November and December are always the most hectic months for me and my family. Aside from being the peak season for our restaurant, I had to go on several trips abroad too and of course there's med school!

Any way, I want to greet everybody a Happy New Year!

Let me share a look which I wore on New Year's Eve! I did a classic holiday look. Neutral and gold eyeshadows (matte brown on the crease, shimmery golden taupe on the lid, and matte skintone eyeshadow as highlight) then I lined both my upper and lower rims with black pencil liner, then I created a cat eye with a liquid liner then finishing it with 2 coats of volumizing mascara. Another go to for the holiday season is red lips, so I went for it, anyway, my eye makeup is on the neutral color palette. To finish the look I just dusted a matte bronzer on the cheeks.

Singapore Haul Part 2

Hello!

You've seen part 1 of my Singapore haul, which consisted of the things I bought from Sephora.

I got L'oreal Perfect Clean Foaming Gel Wash. I wanted to try this mainly because of the scrublet, and it has mainly positive reviews. I've using this and so far I'm liking it! I really hope L'oreal would bring this here in the Philippines, as I could see alot of Filipinos would benefit from and like it!
ZA Two Way Foundation. ZA was on 20% off and I like the Majolica Majorca two way powder foundation, since ZA is also a subsidiary of Shiseido like Majolica Majorca so I bought one. I got the powder refill plus case for just around 700 pesos! Not bad!

Singapore Haul Part 1

How can I not not visit Sephora, right?!

I visited all three branches in Marina Bay Sands, Ngee Ann City, and ION.

As expected, the prices of Sephora in Singapore is higher than US, but still it didn't stopped me from shopping! (Yeah, you know me hahaha)

Though my guilt was lessened, because I got 120 SGD voucher/discount plus 7% tax refund!

So the price difference is not so bad after all.

(I also noticed the branch in Marina Bay Sands has lower prices in some of the items, I dunno why.)

There are also some items I bought that I can't show in this post, because I'll giving them as gifts to friends. I hope you understand.

Well, enough of the blabbing! (I'll reserve the blabbing to my upcoming travel post! haha)

If there's something I've learned in more than 2 years of blogging is that LOW PRICE doesn't necessarily equate to LOW QUALITY products. Through the years of being a beauty addict, I've been disappointed by a lot of products may it be high end or low end ones, but before the products that has given me the worst impressions are drugstore products.

Drugstore beauty products have been given a bad rap, because years ago drugstores have been plagued by inferior beauty and skincare items. But, Lo and behold! Things are changing for the better! I've been seeing a lot of beauty and skincare products that have potential and exceeded my expectations but doesn't break the bank.

I know everybody's trying to cut back on the expenses nowadays, and some who even used to buy high end beauty products are now opting for mid range and inexpensive ones due to financial constraints. I, for one, used to avoid drugstore skincare because the ones I've tried before wrecked havoc in my skin instead of improving it. I also used to stay away from drugstore makeup because the quality used to be inferior, and instead of saving I would just have a useless product; hence, wasted money! Not anymore! With most drugstore brands reformulating and coming out of new products, the drugstore is not anymore a place to be avoided for the search of good beauty and skincare products.

I want to show you guys that the price of beauty doesn't need to be expensive, and you don't have to sacrifice beauty! So I came up a weekly segment, called "Weekend Savings," where I'll be featuring inexpensive products that performs! I'll try to feature a product once a week, and if you guys want to try a certain product or you would want me to review something for you guys feel free to comment or email me or leave a message on my message box on the side of my blog.

My first feature in my Weekend Savings segment is

Garnier Light Instant Fairness BB Eye Roll-On

I ran out of my Laura Mercier Undercover Pot, and I'm not willing to shell out money for an expensive undereye concealer as of late, because I'm saving for my out of the country trip next month. I've watched youtube gurus raving about this product, and it's very much hyped so it's just natural that it would be the first thing I'd try.

And I'm pleased to report that it didn't disappoint!

Not only did it brightened up my undereyes, but it covered the darkness of my undereye circles!

It's lightweight and doesn't crease. It has a good staying power. I usually apply this around 7 in the morning and it's still there when I come home 6 in the evening.

With or without setting powder it stayed on.

Another thing I liked is it does decrease the puffiness of my undereye circles, and the cold metal roller ball feels soothing.

The best part is it only costs around 220 pesos (around $4)!

My only wish is that they come up with more shades, so our sisters and brothers with fairer or darker skintones could enjoy the product too.

Review: Revlon CustomEyes Eyeshadow in 02 Naturally Glamorous

I was looking for a neutral eyeshadow palette that's small and compact, versatile, something that I could use for the day and night, something I could use for a quick perk me up, and something not too expensive that I would've have to worry if I lose it.

You might be wondering why do I still need another neutral eyeshadow palette when I have the UD Naked Palette, Chanel Kaska Beige, Chanel Mystic Eyes, Guerlain Rue de Francs Bourgeois, and plenty more single eyeshadows. Well, I want something that I could easily throw in my purse and go! This would be my travel / on-the-go palette. I want it to be not that expensive, because who would want to risk breaking / losing your high end palette, right?

Here comes Revlon CustomEyes Eyeshadow Palette in 02 Naturally Glamorous.

This palette met all of the things I'm looking for and more!

Dining Experience: Mexicali at SM San Lazaro

I love tacos, nachos, and chili con carne, and these are the perfect comfort food for me, aside from chocolates! (Chocolate would always be my #1 comfort food!)

So when my dearest cousin told me that Mexicali just opened their newest branch in SM San Lazaro, I just have to try it out!

By the way, SM San Lazaro is just about 10 minutes away from my home by car, so I was thrilled to know that at long last, a good taqueria is just a quick drive away!

Last Friday, my cousin and I met up at SM San Lazaro to have dinner at Mexicali!

The Mexicali branch in SM San Lazaro is quite small compared to their other branches, but the place is still comfy. The place is almos never empty too!

The SM San Lazaro branch has a different menu too, and from what I observed this particular branch caters to those who want good Mexican food but tight on a budget, like students.

These are what we ordered:

For starters, we had Chili Fries!

The chili was so good! We both agreed that Mexicali serves one of the best chili con carne with a Filipino flare! Our only gripe was it's a bit expensive at about 189 pesos.

I also wish they do serve chili con carne cups like they do in their bigger branches.

Next, we had Carne Asada Tacos in Soft Corn Tortilla.

One order of either their soft or hard tacos contains 2 junior sized tacos!

Definitely good for sharing, or you could eat it all if you're hungry!

This one, I didn't particularly like, since the meat in this tacos is quite bland and the salsa on top was super spicy! I also tasted the salsa they provide and the one on top of this taco is the same as the one they serve. My cousin and I both though that maybe their salsa isn't tomato based but chili based instead! It's a bit expensive too for 189 pesos compared to 99 pesos for two pieces of junior hard tacos.

In order to try out their enchilada and their hard tacos without ordering the regular size, we opted to order COMBO 6: which contains junior size enchilada of you choice, junior size hard taco of your choice, house salad, and Mexican rice.

This meal is value for your money! Good amount of food for just 129 pesos!

Your tummy will surely be satisfied!

Their enchilada is really good! It's has a good amount of cheese and beef! It's flavorful and creamy too!

I also liked the hard tacos. It's a good basic tacos and it's not bland like the carne asada soft taco.

For dessert, we had Banana, Caramel, Rhum, and Cream.

My cousin and I both loved this! It's a combination of your traditional bananaque and "minatamis na saging."

As you can see in the photo, they didn't skimp on the caramelized Muscovado sugar.

We were surprised too, because it wasn't overly sweet as we expected it to be!

Overall, some of the food here is decent and some were better.

We liked most of the food, plus the food were quite affordable.

Take note that the bigger Mexicali branches serves more choices of food and their food taste a little bit better. On the plus side, this particular branch is much affordable!

We'd definitely be back for the chili con carne, hard tacos, enchilada, and their dessert!

Review: The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder

If you read my previous post, you'll know that I was looking for a matte bronzer.

I was strolling in the mall when I passed by The Body Shop.

I happen to see the display of their latest collection, the Honey Bronze Collection.

Since I wanted a matte bronzer, I decided to get the Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder.

I chose the shade #02 Fair Matte, since I wanted a shade just slightly darker than my skin tone for a more natural look and to avoid "muddy" look.

I asked my cousin to be my model :)

I created a versatile smokey bronze eyes that can be worn in the office or for a night out!

I specifically made this look to suit Phoebe's golden skin.

I used a bit more bronzer than usually, but the camera washed out the colors o_O

Then I used bright pink blush, because I think bright pink blush would look good on Phoebe's skin. I also used a nude lipstick, but not too pale, to complement the eyes.

Quick Review: ELF Studio Golden Bronzer

Here's a review of ELF Studio Golden Bronzer.

I was looking for an affordable matte or satin finish bronzer, so I hit on the web and started to search for affordable bronzers with good reviews. Most of my searches pointed to NYC Sunny Bronzer; unfortunately, NYC products aren't sold here in the Philippines. So the next product with good reviews was the ELF Studio Warm Bronzer. I was supposed to pick that up, but I was in the rush when I picked this up and didn't read the box. Instead of getting the "Warm", I got the "Golden" shade. We don't have return / exchange policies here, so I'm stuck with this product.

Pros:

The picture in the box is quite accurate in representing the product
Packaging looks sleek and professional
Compact comes with a fairly large mirror
Contains four different shades, so you can pick the shade that you want to use. You can also customize your preferred shade.
Pigmented
Blendable
Texture is soft
Gives a nice glow
You get a good amount of product
Affordable. I think it's only 228 pesos

Cons:

The compact doesn't close securely
Powdery
Too shimmery to be used as an all over bronzer
May accentuate wrinkles, pores, imperfections, and dry skin

When I first tried this, I used it as an all over bronzer. What a huge mistake!

I looked like a disco ball! I had to redo my makeup. Take note, I used this with a light hand using a my MAC 187.

I thought at that very moment, what a waste this product is; but being me, I tried different techniques to make this product work. It just didn't cut it as a bronzer.

But I found that it works amazingly well as a highlight.

It gave me a beautiful golden sheen.

I tried using this as a blush, but it didn't worked out for me since it's looks a bit weird wearing gold blush.

I also tried using the smallest amount of product I can manage and topped it on a matte blush.

It added a lovely golden glow to the blush, and made the blush a bit warmer.

Although it fails as a bronzer for me, I like it as a highlight.

Dining Experience: Tao Yuan Restaurant

Last Saturday, my friends and I visited the Newport Mall at Resorts World Manila.

As I was craving for Hainanese Chicken and Chili Crab even days before, we decided to dine at Tao Yuan Restaurnt.

Good thing we had reservations, since the place was full the whole time we were there.

The place was ok, like your usual Chinese Restaurant.

The servers were welcoming and warm as well.

Tao Yuan Restaurant offers traditional Chinese cuisine, as well as Singaporean Cuisine.

Since we already have eaten in so many Chinese restaurants for so long and our taste buds have been craving for something new, we decided to try out their Singaporean offerings.

These are what we ordered:

Chicken Hainanese

This was the first course served along with the Cereal Prawns.

The chicken was soft, tender, and flavorful.

It's really good, but I can't say it's the best that I've tried.

The taste, I must say is similar as the Hainanese Chicken I've tried in Hong Kong and Singapore. I liked it with the chili sauce they served it with rather than with hoisin sauce.

I suggest ordering the rice that goes with the Chicken Hainanese, because it will enhance the flavor. The rice (not pictured) was flavored just right, unlike the other ones I've tried which were overly flavored with the chicken oil.

Cereal Prawns

This is an interesting take on prawns.

The prawns were huge!

What I loved about this dish was that the breading of the prawns were not too thick. Though some of the prawns were a bit overcooked, but some were cooked perfectly, must be the residual heat? The prawns were seasoned nicely too. Overall this is a nice dish.

Laksa

This was the star of the evening!

It's so delicious! So flavorful! It's spot on authentic Singaporeans Laksa!

The Laksa was exceptionally good, because of how creamy this was and it's not too spicy.

Every time I took a spoonful of this, it's like party on my mouth!

Everybody must try this.

Singaporean Spareribs

This taste like barbequed spareribs with a Singaporean flare.

The meat was tender and the sauce was rich, as what would you expect with Singaporean cuisine. The dish is actually our second favorite dish.

Mango Lapu-Lapu

This dish was so-so.

The fish was perfectly cooked, but I was expecting much more for the hefty price.

This taste just like an ordinary Sweet and Sour Lapu-Lapu, but with sliced mangoes.

Plus, the parsley was way too overpowering!

It's not bad, but our housecook can make a better Sweet and Sour Lapu-Lapu.

Chili Crab

Another so-so dish.

Though the crab was cooked nicely, the sauce was bland and lacks the kick we were looking for.

Plus this dish has a ridiculous price.

Not particularly bad, but the price was so steep!

The dish was mediocre for our taste.

This dish was served with Kua Pao, which was good.

Our friendly servers of the night, serving our complimentary dessert.

Almond Jelly

This was a complementary dessert.

It taste like your usual almond jelly, nothing special.

But hey it's free, so no right to complain, right?

Overall, we had a good experience thanks to the accommodating waiters and their awesome Laksa!

I'd definitely be back for more Laksa and Singaporean Spareribs!

Quick Review: Tony Moly Baby Doll BB Powder

I've been loving this loose powder and I've even included this in my "Favorite things" post.

Here's a short and quick review!

I didn't take any photos since, this is basically just a sheer loose setting powder.

Pros:

Finely milled
Keeps the oils at bay for a few hours
Doesn't feel heavy
Doesn't settle into pores
Looks natural
Doesn't dry out skin
Doesn't emphasize lines, pores, dry skin
Makes your foundation looks seamless and smoother
Doesn't gives a flat matte look, but gives a nice soft matte finish
Like BB Creams, oxidizes to match your skintone
Wouldn't make your foundation look cakey even if used heavily
Great for touch ups, since it doesn't look cakey
Sheer
Diffuse the look of pores
No white cast in pictures
Little goes a long way
Works great with powder puff or brush
Comes with a good quality powder puff
You get a lot of product, value for your buck!
Inexpensive

Cons:

Only 2 shades. I'm using #2 (will work for NC25 to 35). #1 will work for fairer skin
Not translucent, so people that doesn't match the powder perfectly will look a bit ashy if too much is used
It's a loose powder, so not travel friendly
Not fragrance free
Doesn't have English translation of the ingredients

Overall, this is a great product from Tony Moly. It's my third favorite setting powder following Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder and Clinique Loose Powder. The two win over the Tony Moly Baby Doll BB Powder, since the Laura Mercier and Clinique are a touch more finely milled, have more color selections, and have translucent shades. But for the significant price difference, I could easily choose the Tony Moly Baby Doll BB Powder.

I just hope they could release more shades or even a translucent shade so more could enjoy this product.

Nail Polish Swatches and Review: Tony Moly

Tony Moly is a Korean brand that arrived in the Philippines few months back.

I, being super busy, just found out about it a couple of weeks ago. I know right?! I'm super late!

I've been loving their lipsticks, lip tints, and loose setting powders!

But another product I'm loving is their nail polishes!

Their nail polishes cost from 99 pesos to 350 pesos, depending on the type of nail polish.

I think they have 4 types: the ones with the black cap, the ones with white cap, the ones with silver caps, and their snake (crackle) nail polishes.

The ones with black cap are the cheapest and the ones with silver cap are the most expensive.

But you know what?

I find the quality of all the nail polishes to be equally good.

It just that the shades from the more expensive range are more unique and glitter-tastic!

But my favorites are from their cheapest range, so far.

Most of the shades have really nice formulas at par with OPI and China Glaze, but some, like those in their pastel collection, are a bit streaky and chalky, but it's normal since most pastels are really streaky and/or chalky.

Normally, these nail polishes will give me atleast 3 days prior showing any tip wear, so that's good! Though, I noticed the glittery ones show wear quicker than other shades. Unlike some high end brands I know that would show tip wear in 1 day (ahem.. Chanel) and even chips in a day (ahem.. NARS).

But please note that I always use basecoat (OPI Nail Envy as of the moment) and topcoat (Seche Vite).

The only thing, I don't like about these are the brushes! A few have decent brushes, but most of them have frayed brushes! The brushes are thick but not thick enough to work, like with the OPI Prowide brush. I just hope if they wanted to make it thick then add more bristles, but if they wanted to make it slim like those in China Glaze, Orly, or Essie then they should shed a few bristles. I even trimmed a couple of bristles in some of the nail polishes to make them work!

I can't tell you as too how long these nail polishes last without chipping, since I regularly change nail colors 2 to 3 times a week, sometimes even everyday!

I totally agree that nail polish is the new lipstick!

And you know what? I can do my nails now for just 5 minutes max, with basecoat, topcoat, and trimming and shaping my nails! How cool is that right?!

I've been super stressed due to exams after exams...

Frankly, I've been having a hard time handling stress fro the past few weeks.

As I am writing this, I still have a lot of things to study (i.e. Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Surgery, and Internal Medicine), but I can't handle it anymore, so I am taking a break for a couple of minutes to breathe and take my mind off studying to recharge my neurons...

Now, why do I love this product?

Who among you guys want to have soft, moisturized, and supple skin, but hate hate hate to the core the sticky and greasy feel most body lotions give, especially its warm and you sweat? Who hates thick products that just sit on your skin, never really get absorbed in your skin, but you endured the icky feeling just to have moisturized skin and still when the product gets rubbed off you realized once the product is off the moisturizing effect is gone too?

NOTD: LA Colors Luscious Wine

I want to share my new favorite red nail polish: LA Colors Luscious Wine. It's a deep blood red / wine shade that's vampy but quite alluring at the same time. It toppled China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Wet n Wild Red Red as my favorite red nail polish! Another thing I'm in love with is it's jelly formula and shiny finish. I'm wearing it with Seche Vite on top and CND Stickey as base. Actually, I just added Seche Vite to make my mani last longer, but this nail polish is shiny enough that it doesnt need a topcoat for added gloss! I used four coats to achieve this depth, which isnt a problem for me since the polish is a bit thin and hey it's a jelly! I had this nail polish for about a year now and I couldn't believe that this is the first time I've worn thia beauty! My only gripe is that the brush is so thin, that instead of two to three strokes for an even coverage in a nail you might need four. BTW I bought this at Makeup Masala for just a dollar! What a steal right?! Too bad Toma closed her shop. Hmmmm... Now I think about it, I really miss the Makeup Masala store.

New found love: Keihl's Superbly Restorative Argan Dry Oill

For 2 years now, I haven't got my hair rebonded. I was supposed to get my hair rebonded again, but decided against it in the end. I wanted to embrace the natural form of my locks. My hair is naturally wavy. I love the waviness of my hair but along with it comes frizziness. I have been searching high and low for shampoo, conditioner, and leave on treatments that could really control and manage frizz but nothing I tried has succeeded in doing so. Not until, Keihl's Superbly Restorative Argan Dry Oil. I've been using this for 3 weeks now and up to now, I am still amazed by this product! It really manages frizz and makes my hair shiney and soft! I also love thia product for it's moiaturizing abilities! For the past 2 weeks, I have been using it on my face and body. I use 1 large drop for my hair both morning and night, and 3 small drops for my face! Since it absorbs quickly you wont feel greasy nor your hair will feel weighed down. When I started usibg this, my pores arent that enormous and my face isnt that oily anymore! I love it! This is definitely a 10 / 10 product!

NOTD: Water Marbling - My First Attempt!

After watching so much water marbling tutorials, I finally had the guts to try it out, and here's the finished product! All I can say is not bad for my first time hahaha. I was aiming for more complex pattern but I still haven't nastered the technique. Hopefully, I could show you better water marbling patterns next time!

I used CND Stickey as base coat, then OPI Hot and Saucy and Orly Sparks for the water marbling and I used Seche Vite fast dry top coat to seal in the design. Hope you guys like it!

NOTD: OPI Glitzerland

OPI Glitzerland is a neutral gold nail polish with foil finish. I used to hate foil finish nail polishes but I love it in this particukar nail polish! It looks like I have Minx on from a far. I cant stop looking at my nails! I feel like a millionaire with this polish on! Hahaha....

In this NOTD, I used a coat of CND Stickey then 3 coats of OPI Glitzerland and 1 coat of Seche Vite Clear Top Coat.

BTW I want to apologize for the not so nice photos recently. I've been using my iPhone for blogging. It's much more easier for me, and this way I could blog more. Hope you could bear with me.

NOTD: Essie Pretty Edgy

I used: 1 coat of CND Stickey; 2 coats of Essie Pretty Edgy; 1 coat of Seche Vite Clear Top Coat; then stamped with the cloud pattern using faux konad plate CG49 with China Glaze Bahamian Escape; abd 1 coat if Seche Vite Clear Top Coat.

Please excuse the dry cuticles! It's dry as desert due to frequent nail polish remover use. Sorry for the short tips as well. I accidentally trimmed my nails too short! AGAIN! Well next time going to show you longer nails with much more interesting nail designs!

Review: Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow

Recently, Wet n' Wild cosmetics revamped the whole brand by ditching out some old products and bringing in new ones. One of the new products that Wet n' Wild brought in are Color Icon eyeshadows in palettes and singles. These eyeshadows, I must say, are fabulous! I have 3 palettes and 2 singles, and here let me show you.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes in Lust, Vanity, and Pride.

Swatch: Pride palette
Swatch: Lust palette (dupes for MAC eyeshadows in Yogurt, Plum, Shadowy Lady, Gesso and Beauty Marked)

Swatch: Vanity palette (dupes for MAC eywshadows in Brulee, Patina, Smut, Bronze)

These palettes comes with 3 matte eyeshadows and 3 shimmeey eyeshadows. You get 6 coordinating eyeshadows for just 499 pesos! (I think I'm sounding like an infomercial! Hahaha!)

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Singles in Brulee and Nutty

Swatch: Brulee and Nutty (dupes for MAC eyeshadows in Brulee and Smoke and Diamonds)

The single eyeshadows cost 199 pesos.

The texture of these eyeshows is perfect! These eyeshadows are creamy, soft, smooth, and barely any fallouts! The pigmentation is amazing as well! Proof? Look at the swatches above. All the swatches are just one swipe! Look how pigmented and vibrant the eyeshadows are!

I love love love these eyeahadows! These are perfect eyeshadows in my book! I can say that these can replace most of my highend brand eyeahadows. These are high quality eyeshadows in prices you can't beat! Heck the mattes are better than the matte eyeshadows by MAC!

I would have given the Wet n' Wild Color Icon eyeshadows a 10, if only they have larger color selections.

Verdict: 9.5/10

All I can say is I'm in love with these eyeshadows!

NOTD - Wet n' Wild Glitz

Nail polish of the day: Wet n' Wild Craze in Glitz.

I used 2 coats of base coat ( CND Stickey ) , 2 coats of Wet n' Wild Craze nail polish in Glitz, 1 coat of Wet n' Wild Mega Shine in Kaleidoscope, and 1 coat of Seche Vite Clear Top Coat. Wet n' Wild Craze in Glitz is a mix of vibrant pink, blue, and silver glitters suspended in a clear nail polish. Majority of the glitters are pink. I'll do a review of this type of nail polish as well as other Wet n' Wild products soon so visit my blog again! By the way, I'm having a blogsale so please check it out!

Review: MAC Cream Bronzer

This is a review of MAC Cream Bronzer!

MAC To the Beach Collection has just been released this week in the Philippines.

I want to review this item, so you might still have a chance to get this.

I personally think that this is one of the must buy in this collection.

I got mine about 2 - 3 weeks ago, and I've been testing it out atleast 5 days a week since I got it.

The packaging:

The MAC Cream Bronzer comes in a shiny lemon green clam shell packaging with a sea shell design printed on the clear plastic top.

The packaging is really pretty and cute!

It really fits the theme of the collection.

But I noticed that the material that was used for the packaging is a bit flimsy as compared to the standard black packaging of MAC.

Personally, I would like it more if they added a mirror.

The shade of the cream bronzer I have is Weekend.

It's a bronzy color with red undertones and really fine and subtle pink shimmers.

It looks really scary on the pot and unblended, but once completely blended, it gives a nice glow and warmth to the face.

Plus the shade it buildable!

The texture of the cream bronzer is perfect!

Not too hard nor too soft.

You won't have any problem applying this either on a warm or cold environment.

You also don't need to warm this up with your body heat to completely blend it.

You can use brushes or your fingers to apply this.

I prefer using the MAC 130 brush with this product, since it deposits the perfect amount I need and still be able to blend it nicely.

It feels so smooth and velvety when applied.

Lasting power is great too!

I've used this with and without setting it with setting powder and powder bronzer, and frankly, I can't see the difference in terms of lasting power.

In my location right now, it's been really warm and humid.

I apply this 7am and when I go home by 6pm, it's still there!

I prefer this cream bronzer than any powder bronzer I have, since it really looks natural and doesn't look poweder nor it emphasize flaky skin like powder bronzers can.

It's a bit on the expensive size, but you get a fair amount for your money.

It will last you a long time, since you don't need a lot, unless you want to look like you have a fake tan or an oompalumpa.

Verdict:

9.5/10

I took out a half point due to the inferior material used in the packaging, but otherwise this is a Holy Grail material!

Battle of the HD Foundations Part 2: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation

This is a review of Revlon Photo Ready Liquid Foundation.

If I'm not mistaken, the Revlon Photo Ready Liquid Foundation is the first ever liquid foundation made by a drugstore brand that caters for "high definition" photography and film.

What Revlon says:

"Revlon PhotoReady™ Makeup - for poreless, airbrushed skin in any light. Photochromatic pigments bend and reflect light to erase every flaw. Complete, yet undetectable coverage. Soft, luminous finish."

I have this foundation for a few months now, but I only got to really test it out last May.

I bought mine at eBay for $8.00 per bottle - not including shipping.

Since I'm not sure what shade would work for me, I bought shades 04 Nude and 05 Natural Beige.

Before I went on my vacation, the closest shade and the one I've used is 04 Nude; 05 Natural Beige was just dark for me. I was an NC25 then. The shade 04 Nude is a bit off, so I wasn't really been using it. But after my vacation, my skin got a bit more tan and 05 Natural Beige was perfect, so I got around using it!

The Revlon Photo Ready Liquid Foundation comes with 12 shades, which in my option is not that great of a selection. Many would find difficulty finding their right shade.

Like for NC25 skin, 04 Nude would be great but it has a pink undertone so it might look off. I figured to get the perfect shade for NC25, you need to mix 03 Shell,which is too yellow and light for NC 25, and 05 Natural Beige.

I went in a Revlon counter too to study the shades, and I noticed that the odd numbers have yellow/golden undertones, while those even numbers have pink/red undertones.

The Revlon Photo Ready Liquid Foundation has a glass bottle with translucent black cap.

It also have a very efficient pump.

The pump is one of the best pump there is. You can really control how much product you dispense. You can pump out a really tiny tiny dot with minimal effort.

The amount of product you get per bottle is 1 fluid ounce or 30mL, which is what normally you'd get from liquid foundations.

You can see below that the foundation is liquidy / very fluid.

The consistency is not thick, nor too watery that it would easy drip down your hands.

It's also lightweight!

The Revlon Photo Ready Foundation is oil free and fragrance free, which are pros specially for those sensitive and/or oily skin.

This foundation gives a medium light coverage. One may still need a concealer to cover up hyperpigmentation.

It gives a bit of a dewy finish, but with the shimmers in the product it looks more dewy.

I noticed that the amount of shimmers in the each product varies.

In the ones I have, 04 Nude has less shimmers compared to 05 Natural Beige.

It also contain SPF 20, which can be both a pro and a con.

Pro, because of sun protection, and a con because it can give a slight whitish cast in flash photography. However, when set with powder the whitish cast isn't noticeable any more.

Another thing that can be a pro/con is the shimmer in this foundation.

Some may like the shimmer because it can add to the dewy finish of this foundation, but some may think that it's a bit garish.

Under normal florescent lighting, the shimmer isn't that too noticeable unless you really look super close. However, on direct/indirect sunlight or natural lighting the shimmers are very noticeable.

Here are the photos of my hand with Revlon Photo Ready Liquid Foundation.

The first 2 pictures are photographed with flash and the last one without flash.

You can enlarge the pictures to see the shimmers I'm referring to.

I've used different tools to apply this foundation with but I found that my fingers worked best with this foundation.

Due to the shimmers in this foundation, the flakiness, pores, and wrinkles may be accentuated, so a moisturizer and primer is a must when using this product.

This foundation wears incredibly well on me. It last for more than 8 hours even without retouching in humid hot weather!

At first, I thought that I would look more oily with this since it contains shimmers, but this product doesn't make me oily, and it does help control oil, so I'm just left with a nice glowy look in artificial lighting or glowy shimmery look in natural lighting. Either way, I don't look like a grease pan!

In my trial and error testing, the best result I got is when I use my Guerlain Light Diffusing Meteorites Primer, and Clinique Loose Setting Powder with it.

Verdict:

6.5/10

It's a decent foundation, but nothing that I would rush to repurchase anytime soon!

The packaging is nice, specially the pump.

The formula is not for everyone, and you need to use a primer and/or moisturizer prior to using this.

I also noticed that some people get more oily using this and some says that they feel their skin became a bit more dry upon using this.

Review: Revlon ColorBurst

This is a review of the latest lipstick line that Revlon launched.

I'm pertaining to the Revlon ColorBurst lipsticks!

After hearing and reading good things about this lipstick, I gave in and purchased myself 3 shades!

Here's my two cents...

The shades I got are:

(L to R: Soft Nude, Coral, and Baby Pink)

First let's talk about packaging:

At first, when you get it it comes sealed with a plastic wrap and a sticker.

That's a good point with me, since I've been noticing more and more brands are opting not to seal their products anymore. And everyone wants to be assured that the products you buy are fresh and unused.

When, I first saw these lippies online, I really hated the packaging, since I thought it would look a bit tacky. However, when I saw it personally, it isn't that bad after all.

The plastic used in the tubes is a bit on a lightweight and cheap feel, but actually it's durable.

The cap of one of the lipstick fell so hard and long, and no damage was done! Thank goodness!

You can see the name of the shade at the bottom of each lipstick, and the ingredients is printed at the protective sticker.

It also have a color indicator on top of the cap, and I'm quite impressed since the color indicator in the cap matches really well the shade of the lipstick.

The texture / glide / pigmentation:

These lipsticks is hands down one of the must try lip products from Revlon!

It's indeed better than most if not all the other drugstore lipsticks I've tried!

The texture is really smooth! Even the shades with shimmers.

The shimmers are so fine, there's no gritty feel in the lips when you apply it!

These lipsticks glides in really nicely, even if you have mildly chapped lips.

These are also not drying in the lips, it's actually a bit moisturizing.

But don't expect to really moisturize your lips like a lip balm per se.

If you like the feel of MAC lipsticks with Lustre and Glaze finishes, then you'd love this!

The texture and glide is so identical to MAC Lustre and Glaze finishes, that I really can't tell the difference!

Another plus is that even though these lipsticks feels like Lustres and Glazes from MAC,

the pigmentation is way way better!

You can get the exact color in the lipstick to your lips in just one swipe with medium to more intense colors, and just two swipes with light colors!

It also reminds me a bit of YSL Rouge Pur, which is also one hell of a nice lipstick!

Price:

One Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick cost about P500+ in the Philippines (about $10-12)

It's a bit expensive for a drugstore brand, but it's still cheaper than MAC lipsticks.

You get the same quality for a little less.

The price is pretty reasonable considering that these lipsticks are really at par or even better than some high end lipsticks! To tell you the truth, I like the feel of these more than my some Chanel Rouge Allure!

Verdict:

9/10!

The only gripe that I have with the ColorBurst line is the lack of great color selection.

Actually, I haven't have any luck finding a shade that I really like.

The shades, I feel, looks a bit dull and tired.

I suggest to pick one up if you like something in this line, since it's really a nice buy!

Side note: I'm really happy that drugstore cosmetic brands are really stepping up!

That means, we don't have to spend that much to get great and quality cosmetics!

I'm eyeing the Rimmel lipsticks the ones with purple metal tubes.

I might order some on ebay or other online shops, since some say that it's really similar to the ColorBurst, and it's not that expensive too! Only thing is, I need to order online, since we don't have rimmel here in the Philippines.

Has anybody tried out those Rimmel lipsticks?

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Masque

A while back, I was contacted by Spanaticz Phillipines.

I was asked if I would like to review their product, and of course, I said yes!

You know me, always wanting to discover and explore new beauty products.

I was really thrilled to find out that the product is a face mask.

Spanaticz sent me a press kit, which included a packet of

Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Masque.

One packet contains 20g or 0.7 oz of products, which is very generous amount.

One packet can be used for atleast 4 to 6 applications depending on how thick you apply.

The texture is like your typical mud mask.

It's very thick, but it dries down for a few minutes.

What I specially love with this particular mask is the scent.

I really smells like real chocolate!

It smells so good that I was tempted so bad to have a taste!

One tip I can give is to have chocolates in hand so you wouldn't be tempted to munch on the mask :))

The performance of this mask is superb for oily skin!

I felt my skin was balanced.

For a few days after the mask application, I noticed that I haven't been oiling up as much.

It also made my pores look smaller temporarily.

It exfoliates well too, since the flaky spots on my skin was gone after the application.

The mask is also a great addition to your skin detox system, since it really cleanse the skin.

You can really feel the cleanliness of the skin, and you can see it too!

Verdict:

9 / 10

I took a point out since, I prefer it to be in a squeeze tube than in a packet.

Performance wise, it's great!

Plus, it's affordable too!

I'm so impressed that I bought the other masks under the brand too!

My top priority in my trip abroad is to acquire face masks so I've bought quite a number.

I bought My Beauty Diary masks as well as some random masks.

Of course visiting Asian beauty stores wouldn't be complete without buying some nifty beauty tools! I bought Dariya Hair Fringe thingy, Silk Whitia Microfine Cloth body belt, Mascara guard, Shiseido Lash Curler, Oil Blotting Sheets, and Nexcare Acne Dressing.

Let me tell you, the Nexcare Acne Dressing is so AMAZING!

On the first day of my Hong Kong trip, I broke out so bad because of the sunscreen I used; so when I saw some cosmetics store selling these, I grabbed one a tried it out immediately when I returned to the hotel. It really works! It got rid of my smaller pimples in just one night and the bigger one in 2 nights! It's definitely a miracle worker!

I also grabbed a few skincare products.

Villa Olive Gel, L'Oreal Hydrafresh Anti-Shine, and Choize Cleansing Milk.

I also bought some bargain makeup products!

Acmedica powder, BC Curvy Lip Silicone, La pensee stuff, Majolica Majorca palette, Sana Pore Putty Concealer, and some eyeliners.

I'm really impressed ny the La pensee stuff, it's really cheap but the texture and pigmentation is really up there with high end brands. The eyeshadows are absolutely marvelous! It's like the Veluxe Pearl finish of MAC eyeshadows. The blushes are great too!

I also bought a few high end stuff.

YSL Parisienne, YSL Rouge Pur, YSL The Bow Collection Lip Palette, MAC Satin Taupe, MAC Lady Bug, and Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic.

This summer is my best summer so far!

Battle of the HD Foundations: Part 1 Kryolan Micro Foundation Mattyfying Liquid

The battle of the HD foundation begins!

This segment will be of 5 parts.

I will be comparing the Kryolan Micro Foundation Mattifying Liquid, MakeUp Forever HD Foundation, Coastal Scents Liquid Foundation, and Revlon PhotoReady Foundation.

The first 4 parts will be individual review of each product and the last one will be a comparison.

I know many of us are still trying to find which foundation would be perfect for them, so I hope this may help find your perfect foundation!

Today is the era of HD media, and the HD cosmetics isn't far behind.

With so many products popping up that says they cater to HD media, it gets so confusing.

So I hope this little segment in my blog will help you decide which products to buy.

Today, I will review the Kryolan Micro Foundation Mattifying Liquid.

This part of the Micro Foundation line by Kryolan.

The Micro Foundation line was created to cater for the High Definition resolution of today's media. There are other products under the Micro Foundation line like cream foundations, airbrush foundations, mattifying liquid foundation, liquid foundation for dry skin, and liquid foundation for matured skin.

What I have is the Mattifying variant of the Micro Foundation liquid foundation, perfect for my very oily skin.

The packaging of this particular product isn't as good looking as other foundations of its price range. I bought mine I think for about P2500, about $50 (not so sure, since I have this for quite sometime now). The bottle is made of cheap looking plastic like the ones in cheap baby toys, but one pro about this is that even if you drop this, the bottle won't break.

I like that this product contains a nice pump, which works wonderfully!

The pump will give you alot of control.

You can dispense as little or as much as you want.

The texture of the foundation is not liquidy at all.

It's more of a mousse consistency.

It's looks thick due to its consistency but not at all heavy.

It feels like you're not wearing any foundation at all when used.

This foundation is very blendable.

It looks very natural and doesn't look cake-y.

The coverage is medium buildable.

It goes on seamless, when blended to the skin.

I find that this foundation is heaven sent for those with large pores, wrinkles, or very textured skin, because this foundation really helps to make the skin looks really smooth and even.

This due to the foundation being silicone based.

When I use this foundation, I don't use primer anymore.

This foundation is gives a soft matte look, which I like because it looks so natural and it doesn't look flat.

Most mattifying foundation can accentuate dry patches/flakes in the skin, but this doesn't!

This foundation is great for oily skin too!

My skin is so oily, but this foundation keeps the shine out all day!

I was really amazed by the oil control properties of this product!

This foundation is water resistant too, and very long wearing.

I have this on when I played paint ball under the scorching heat and it didn't budge or move or shown some wear!

This is the first HD foundation I used so this definitely set my expectation on other HD foundations very high.

This foundation is a must try!

I really love this foundation!

Verdict:

9.5/10

The only con is the price,

but for me, every penny is worth it!

Summer Make-Up Top 5 Picks

Summer is here!
I can already feel the summer heat!
I can't help but daydream that I'm enjoying the beach, my feet on the warm, white sand, smelling the fresh breeze of the sea, and having fun in the waters!
Oooh! I'm definitely in summer mode!

Might as well share you my travel/vacation plans this summer.
Two weeks from now, I'm going to be on Thailand for two weeks, then I'll be back in Manila for a week, then I'll be going to Macau for a week, then by May I'll be going back to Macau and visiting HongKong for another week. When I get back to the Philippines, I'll be heading straight to Pagudpod, Ilocos, which is insanely beautiful white beach and the place isn't packed with so many people like Boracay!

But no matter where we go, we beauty junkies would like our skin to be at its best, cared for, and protected, and still look fabulous!
So, I want to share my MUST-HAVE products to tote along with you this summer!
This is also all I'm carrying in my travel makeup kit, not only will I pack light but all these things are basically foolproof!

1. Sunscreen, with atleast SPF30 and maximum SPF50.
The sun is exceptionally harsh this time of the year, so you really want so extra protection, so the minimum SPF you should be wearing is SPF 30. Why maximum of SPF50, you might ask? Because the skin can only absorb up to SPF42, and the higher the SPF the more greasy it will feel, and it's a bit hard to look for sunscreen with exactly SPF42 so SPF50 will be good.

If you're not going swimming, my personal pick is MAC Prep and Prime Face Protection Visage SPF50. It's a multipurpose product. It's a primer, sunscreen, and mattifyier in one!

I f you're going to dip in the water, I suggest picking the Shiseido Sun Protection Very Water resistant Lotion SPF42. (The picture is actually the foundation, I know, I'm blind sometimes! hehehe) I really like this sunscreen for swimming, because as the name suggest it is reallt VERY WATER RESISTANT! Only con is that it's a bit difficult to remove at the end of the day, and it's white. and if you put too much, it will give a white cast on the skin!

2. Tinted Moisturizer.
You don't want to look overly made up, specially in the summer. So, I say ditch your foundation, and replace your foundation with a tinted moisturizer! It will cover up imperfections without looking too made up, and it will give your face a really nice summery glow! You can also create your own tinted moisturizer by mixing your liquid foundation with moisturizer and you can jazz it up by mixing in a luminizer too!

My personal favorite is the Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer SPF20.
It gives a nice coverage, a healthy dewy glow, it has SPF20, and it's oil free!
I've been using this for a few months now, except when testing out new foundations for review, and boy oh boy I'm in love with this!

3. Gel Bronzer.
Tanned skin is hot this summer, but skin cancer is not!
Here's a quick fix, gel bronzer!
It's definitely far more long lasting than powder bronzer, and it will look really natural and seamless when applied properly. Plus the gel bronzer will compliment the dewy glow you'll get from the tinted moisturizer.

My pick is the Guerlain Terracotta Fresh Bronzing Gel. A more affordable alternative is the Maybelline Mineral Power Gel bronzer, which is also great but it tends to be very sheer, which is fine for my skintone, but not for deeper skintones.

4. Bright and Fun Lipsticks
In the summer, you can get rid of your pale lipsticks and bring out fun, funky, and vibrant lipsticks! In the summer, I usually wear very minimal makeup, and when traveling I want to pack very light. So I opt for fun and bright shades of lipsticks since you can only wear it and you're good to go! Your face will look brighter and you'll look fab, without piling on makeup! I suggest bright pinks and corals! Plus these bright coral and pink lipsticks can also double as a blush! Just dab a teeny bit on the apples of your cheeks and blend towards the hairline, and swipe on that lipstick on your lips, and you're good to go! You'll look great, in a matter of seconds, plus you're not wearing too much makeup! I usually wear big chunky sunglasses, so I want to have bright colors on my lips, because more or less my lips are the only ones that will be seen!

My pick is MAC lipstick in Total Wow!
It's a bright berryish pink shade. It's bright and fun, but still very wearable!

Another, is Show Orchid, for those who want to have extra fun!
It is a really bright pink with a bit of magenta tone.

5. Waterproof Mascara
In the summer, I always opt for waterproof versions of mascara rather than the normal version; because one way or another you're going to get wet through sweat or the water. So define the eyes with a waterproof mascara. Waterproof mascara will be your best bet this summer because not only because you might get wet,but also your skin will produce more oil in warmer weather, thus you'll be more prone to mascara smudges.

My favorite summer on the go mascara is the Covergirl Lash Blast Waterproof.
It gives a nice length and volume, and it's cheap so you won't mind losing this in the trip.
What I also love about this mascara is eventhough it's waterproof it easily removes with just soap and water. So there's not really a need to carry for a separate makeup remover!

I want to share a good news!

Revlon PhotoReady has arrived in our shores!

While I was in the streets of Makati waiting for the traffic to move, I peeked through the window and observed the area, and I saw tarpaulins of Revlon PhotoReady in the streets.

So before going to Rustan's and MAC, I dropped by the Beauty Section of SM Makati, which btw is so fab thanks to the recent renovations, to check if its already available.

And guys and gals, it's already available!

The liquid foundation is about P950 (which is about $20 - yeah, what a markup!)

If you're curious go check it out!

I'm not sure if it's already available in all SM department stores.

BTW the SA's there are really kind and accommodating, they'll definitely answer your queries about the products.

I suggest testing it out first before buying coz as many says it does contain shimmers, anyway testers are always available for use in Revlon counters, which is one thing I love living in the Philippines, since all cosmetics brands even drugstore brands always provide testers.

Have fun testing these out!

I personally think, the line in quite nice!

Now for my tiny haul from Sephora!

I got a Cargo blu_ray bronzer, which is on sale for $15!

I really like this bronzer, it looks natural on my skin and it has very understated shimmers so it doesn't look flat. I also love how finely milled the powder is, and definitely suitable for high definition camera, because it really blends in the skin so nicely and seamlessly.

Sephora Platinum Brush #55

This is called the "airbrush brush" by Sephora.

And I couldn't agree any less!

Indeed it's airbrush in a brush!

I've been lemming for this brush for a long, long time and I'm happy I got one!

I think this will topple my Shu uemura #18 brush in the top spot of my favorite foundation brushes. Let's wait see... I'll give an update on this!

MakeUp ForEver HD Foundation in 120.

Last year when this was released in the Philippines, I tried this in the store, but I didn't liked it at all. It looked streaky and the shade that the MA applied on me looked too orangey and dark! So I really stayed away from this foundation. But me being a believer of second chances, I wanted to try this foundation again, and I'm planning to review different HD foundations on my blog. But our MUFE stores here doesn't have stock of it every time I visit. I wanted to try it to see if I would like it if I used another shade that really matches my skin, and if I apply it myself. Thanks to sis Jheng of Abubots, I was apply to try it again. She gave a generous amount of sample of the HD Foundation. She was asking me if I like the shade 117 or 120, but since my skin is slightly darker than hers and her shade was 117, I asked for 120. And LO and BEHOLD! 120 is a perfect match! I have never seen a foundation that matched my skin so perfectly! So that alone, I was sold! And with the sample that sis JHENG gave me, I was able to use different techniques. I liked it so I decided to purchase one for myself.

Last is Rosebud Salve. I just got this to replenish my dwindling stock of this.

Now that I have the MUFE HD Foundation, I'm just waiting for my Revlon Photoready to arrive which may arrive next week!

The Battle of HD Foundations will compare 4 HD foundations: Kryolan High Definition Mattifying Foudation, Coastal Scents HD Foundation, MUFE HD Foundation, and Revlon PhotoReady Foundation. I would like to add the MAC Face and Body Foundation, but our MAC stores here doesn't carry it! And I don't want to buy online because I'm not sure what is my shade. Does anybody have the MAC Face and Body Foundation, and wouldn't mind sending me a sample? It would be great if I could review it too, since it's one of the widest used foundation that claims to be suitable for HD.

Yes, it's the Coastal Scent's Undercover High Definition Foundation!

I also got my 2 kabuki on a stick and 1 italian badger buffer brush!

I'm loving the brushes!

For now, all I can say is that I love my kabuki on a stick better than my MAC 109.

The italian badger buffer brush is love! But I'm going to test these out for sometime before I give a proper review, so watch out!

Product Review: Maybelline ColorSensational Moisture Extreme Lipcolor (Asia Exclusive)

This is a review of the Maybelline ColorSensational Moisture Extreme Lipcolor (CMEL).

This particular line of lipsticks is Asia exclusive.

I was very eager to try this lipstick when I first read about it in Maybelline Philippines Facebook page.

People said that the formula is the same with the ColorSensational (CS) line in Europe and US, but I hate to break it to you beauties, the formula isn't the same.

I personally think that this is a completely different lipstick line than the one in US and Europe.

The most noticeable difference is the packaging. The CS line has a luxe Dior-esque packaging, but the CSMEL line has a similar packaging as the Moisture Extreme Lipsticks in the US and Europe. I first assumed that the CSMEL line is sort of a combination of the CS line and the Moisture Extreme line, due to to the name (ColorSensational Moisture Extreme Lipcolor) and the packaging.

The ColorSensational line in the US and Europe has a creamy, a bit rich formula but after a while of wear, the lipstick tends to dry the lips up. However, the Asia Exclusive line is not at all creamy but super moisturizing and doesn't dry out the lips. I think the formula is similar to the Moisture Extreme rather than to the ColorSensational. The only reason, I think, why ColorSensational was tagged into this range was because of the number of color selections and how the colors were divided into their color family.

The formula also reminded of the Water Pure Shine (WPS) lipsticks, also Asia Exclusive. The only difference about this and the WPS is the pigmentation. The CSMEL is definitely much more pigmented than the WPS but the pigment of the lips can still show.

Comparing to MAC lipstick formulas, the CS feels amplified creme, cremesheen and frost, while the CSMEL is like the glaze, lustre, and slimshine formula, though the CSMEL is much more pigmented.

The CSMEL is like a mixture of gloss and lipstick, very much like the Slimshine but much more hard.

One more thing to note, the color range in the CSMEL is completely different from the CS line. People say that it's custom made for Asian skin. I personally like the color range in the CS line than in the CSMEL.

Another thing I like in CSMEL is that it doesn't have a chemically scent nor does the scent turn rancid quickly like the CS.

I also noticed that the pigmentation varies on the shades, I find that the darker shades are more pigmented than the lighter shades.

This lipstick transfers quite easily, and not that long lasting. It's just slightly more longwearing than a typical lipgloss.

The CSMEL is P299 (about $6) a pop, quite affordable for the quality.

I got three shades:

Cosy Tangerine, Summer Sunset, and Pink Bloom.

L to R: Cosy Tangerine, Summer Sunset, Pink Bloom.

Cosy Tangerine is a bright pinkish coral.

Summer Sunset is a true red (I like this red, really suits my skintone).

Pink Bloom is a frosty bright pink.

All shades has a bit of a glossy/shiny finish.

Verdict:

6/10

I would really like it if the packaging was similar to the CS. I'd rather pay a little bit more for a better packaging, since the CSMEL's packaging is a bit flimsy and not that appealing to look at.

While the formula and feel are quite nice for a drugstore lipstick, the color range is a bit blah.. IT doesn't appeal much to me and the shades are a bit redundant, since most of the shades are almost the same with the WPS shades. Plus the wear of this lipstick not great.

I might repurchase again if they launch new colors, but as of now, I don't think I'll repurchase.

Review: Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer / UPDATE

This a review of the Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer.

You might remember from my last haul that I bought a Laura Mercier flawless face kit, and it contains a Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (Original Formula), and you might wonder why I still bought the oil free version...

Well, first of all the original formula while it did gives a sheer coverage that diminish the look of blemishes a bit, it is still not enough to neutralize the redness in my cheeks. The original formula tends to make my skin more oily through out the day, and I find that it slides off specially in humid conditions. Even with that, I would definitely still recommend it to drier skin types, since it's lightweight, have a decent sheer coverage for a tinted moisturizer, and though it's not oil free it didn't broke out.

After researching online, I found some reviews about the oil free version. People say that it gives a bit more coverage than the original version, and yes, I do agree on that! The original formula gives a sheer, light coverage, while this one gives a light-medium coverage. I really like that it's as lightweight as the original formula even with the added coverage.

I also love the fact that it also adds moisture to the skin to a certain extent. I find that many tinted moisturizer doesn't add moisture, but is just like a really sheered out liquid foundation. My skin seems to really like it too, since I haven't broke out.

I find that the oil free formula didn't do much in the oil control department. It didn't made me oilier, but it didn't control my oiliness either.

The oil free formula gives a REAL dewy finish like the original version, meaning the dewiness is due to the formula not because there were fine shimmer added in like other tinted moisturizers have...

I also notice that this is much more long wearing than that of the original formula. But maybe it's just because I'm oily skinned, and oil free formulas definitely last longer in my type of skin.

I must note that, both the oil free and original formulas are best applied using fingers, synthetic paddle foundation brush (like MAC 190), and flat top synthetic brush. If you use your natural brushes, the brush will most likely just eat up the product. I tried using the MAC 109 and 187, but I noticed, it didn't spread the product evenly. I personally like applying it with my paddle foundation brush and ELF Studio Powder Brush, since I really don't like staining my hands with foundation. But basically, it really depends on what tools you prefer.

I also like that it's in a squeeze tube, so you can really get all the product out and it's hygienic!

I bought this for P1850 (about $37) at Rustan's, and I think it's pricey for a tinted moisturizer, but it's the best I've tried...

Verdict:

I really like the LM Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer!

But because of it's price, and no oil control properties...

I would repurchase this if I do run out, but I'll still be in a search for a cheaper alternative...

I want try the CoverGirl and Olay soon and see if it may be dupes....

Tips:

For a longer wear, set it with powder.

I personally love using the Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder, because it still retains the dewiness.

I also suggest letting it sink in for atleast 2 minutes before setting it with powder, because if the face is too damp/moist, the tendency is the powder will look cakey and it will emphasize pores and fine lines...

My opinion about the product was not influenced by anyone or any company for that matter or the fact that this sent to me for free. In respect with the company, I have no affiliation with Skin MD Natural. This was sent for me for review, and I was as given liberty to give my own opinion about the product, and I won't review a product unless if it was requested by a reader of my blog in sponsored products that I don't believe in.

Last year, December 17 to be exact, I was contacted by Mr. Carlo Verde, a PR Representative of Skin MD Natural, if I would like to try out the Shielding Lotion and review it in my blog. Since I'm allergic to products containing mineral oil, and I have a hard time finding body lotions/moisturizers which doesn't contain mineral oil that works, specially on my super dry elbows. So, I agreed. I received the PR Kit on January 4, 2010, and I have been testing it out ever since.

I am a constant user of 70% ethyl alcohol ever since I can remember, so my hands are left dried out. Since I was a child I have really dry and dark elbows, and my elbows are really prone to peeling and flaking and until now it's still one of my biggest skin problem. I have tried so many lotions but the conditions of my hands and elbows didn't get any better. Plus, the fact that I have bad reactions to products with mineral oil didn't helped.

I must say I'm really impressed with this product!

I have really have no regret on saying yes to Mr. Carlo Verde's offer for me to try this product out!

The Shielding Lotion looks like your traditional lotion with its white semi-translucent formula.

But unlike most lotions in the market, this is fragrance free and derived from natural ingredients. It's also paraben free. What I really like about this product is that no other lotion that I have tried is as light weight and sinks to the skin as easily as this product does. This lotion is best of all non-greasy! I have used this for a bit more than a week and I can feel the difference already! At the first 3 to 4 days of using this, I need to reapply in my hands for every 4 hours but after that I only need to apply once in the morning and once before I go to bed. I also noticed that my hands are not as dry as before, and my hands feels naturally softer and smoother. My elbows experience less flaking too! I'll do an update if the flaking/peeling problem completely gets resolved within the use of this product or if there would be no more improvement or what not.

I also used this product in my face as a moisturizer. I really like it too, since it doesn't feel greasy and it sinks to the skin quickly. Actually, this product feels like the Laura Mercier mineral primer and the oil free primer. When I used this product, I didn't notice any change in the wear of makeup. I use this product as a moisturizer and I use this in replacement of my Laura Mercier Primer (original formula), since the LM Primer in orginal formula broke me out, when I use my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.

Product Find/Rave/Review: Avon MagiX Tinted Face Perfector

This is a review of the Avon MagiX Tinted Face Protector.

It's been a year since I first tried this product.

I've been meaning to review this product, but it's just now that I remembered hahaha ;)

Spoiler: I really like it! :)

What Avon says:

Packaging: Sleek black square compact and has a mirror. The compact can be opened into two compartments. The top compartment is where it product is, and the bottom is where the sponge provided is kept.

Texture: This product has a quite unique texture. It feels like it's a gel/cream formula but silicone based. I really like that it's lightweight, and goes on seamlessly. However, due to it's unique texture, there isn't a brush that works as well as a sponge when using this product.

Anther thing I like about this product that it provides a light coverage. It cancels out redness well and conceals blemishes nicely. It also diminish the look of pores and lines. Lately, I've been using it alternatively with my tinted moisturizer. Another thing I like is that this product is multipurpose. You can use it like tinted moisturizer or a foundation primer! Foundation goes on smoothly over this. The product also contains SPF 15, a nice added sun protection, but I still recommend using a separate sunscreen of atleast SPF 30.

The product gives a nice slightly dewy finish, but not overly shiny!

A plus for me is that it's formated to keep up with oily skin! It keeps my oils at bay for about 4 to 5 hours.

This product, I must add, has a fresh aloe vera scent similar of that of SkinFood Aloe BB Cream.

Avon only offers few shades, so not everyone can find a match, but due to it's sheerness, it's very much forgivable.

Verdict: 8/10

I really likey!

For just about P400-500 from your local Avon lady, I suggest trying this nice multipurpose product!

REVIEW: Fairy Drops Mascara

This is a review of the Fairy Drops Mascara.

I've been lemming for this mascara for ages! I've heard so many good stuff about this mascara, so I want to know first hand if it does live up to the hype.

The fact that this mascara was made in Japan, my expectations are higher.

I tried quite a number of Japanese mascara from Shiseido, Majolica Majorca, Kate, Fasio, Coffret D'Or, Imju Fiberwig, and others, and I must say I was never disappointed!

Japanese mascaras are definitely on the top tier of the mascara hierarchy.

Let's start with the packaging:

The Fairy Drops is definitely an eye-catcher with it's hot pink tube with aqua and white drawings. The tube is really cute, and it makes me wanna tote it along with me and show it to my friends!

What makes the Fairy Drops mascara unique is its wand.

As you can see above, it's like 3 wands clumped together. The left most and the middle part of the wand is more of a spherical shape, while the one on the tip is more of an ovoidal shape.

The wand is made of regular bristles, unlike the Rimmel Sexy Curves which has a similar wand shape but has rubber bristles.

The bristles in the wand are densely packed, one characteristic I like on mascaras. Due to its dense bristles, it separates the lashes like nobody's business.

I really like the fact that the tip of the wand is more of an ovoid shape rather than spherical since you can get into the corner lashes very easily.

What I also love is that the wand helps in lifting and curling the lashes.

The Formula:

Like almost all Japanese mascara, the Fairy Drops has a moderately thick formula without being heavy. The formula is light that doesn't weigh down the lashes. The mascara really gives a nice length to the lashes, making it look long and wispy. However, it doesn't give much volume to the lashes. You can also build up the mascara without clumping. A major plus is the fact that it doesn't flake nor smudge even in hot and humid climate like here in the Philippines.

Like most other Japanese mascara, this is a bit on the difficult side on the removing part. However, it's not as stubborn to remove as the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus to remove. Actually, it's fairly easy to remove when compared with the Majo Majo one! I'm a contact lens wearer and I commend this mascara for not irritating my eyes. Though, I need to note that you might feel a bit teary eyed for the first minute, but after that it's all good! The mascara doesn't have a scent too, which is great for those with sensitive eyes. My mom has very sensitive eyes, and other than the fact that the Fairy Drops mascara made her a bit teary eyed on the first few seconds of wear, it didn't irritate her eyes at all.

I got this mascara from sasa.com for $13.90 (P646.60) which is alright as compared to western drugstore mascaras.

Verdict:

8/10

This is a really good mascara, lightweight, doesn't smudge nor flake nor irritate the eyes.

It separates the lashes wonderfully, and really lengthens without the crunchy feels. However, one con is it doesn't add volume as much as I wanted it to. Another down side, is it's not available locally which is a huge bummer! I highly recommend this to those who have thick lashes but needs some length.

Branching out into Airbrushing: Featuring GLAMBOX Airbrush System

Last week,I was cruising around Watson's health and beauty section, when I spotted the Maybelline counter. I was attracted by the Eyestudio eyeshadow quads, since the packaging was quite pretty and luxurious as compared to the old quads, and the new quads reminded me of Kate and Visee eyeshadows. I was going to get the neutral quad with the really pretty rich chocolate brown color but it was out of stock. Mind you, many of the items were out of stock, so I was a bit disappointed. Then I saw the new Maybelline 2in1 Impact Shadow Liner by Eyestudio and swatched it. I was impressed at how beautiful the purple was, and after letting the liner set for a few seconds rubbed it hard and to my surprise it didn't budge at all! The liner was so so so creamy, as creamy as the Stila Kajal Liner, and it didn't budge! I was so excited and amazed that I bought the black one too along with the purple and went home immediately to try it out! Let me tell you that this stuff is absolutely pigmented and super creamy! This glides on my lids like buttah! Glides on as wonderfully as Stila Kajal Liner. Eventhough this is as creamy as the Stila Kajal Liner, this isn't as soft which is a major plus in my book! Meaning you don't need to sharpen it more often as you do with the Stila Kajal Liner, more bang for your bucks! This stuff has a great staying power too! Smudge-free and flake free for both my upper and lower lashlines. This stuff stays in my waterline too! AMAZING!!!

I have also tried this as an eyeshadow, and it works really well! It gives you about a minute to blend it and then it sets and it won't budge nor crease! I seriously love it! It's also an amazing base, better than my paintpots, since the shadows will really stick to the liner and the colors will just pop!

This will replace my Stila Kajal Liner as my HG liner! This stuff is way better than the Urban Decay 24/7, MAC Powerpoint, or even MUFE Aqua Eyes, since this stuff is the creamiest of the bunch and last as long as the MUFE Aqua Eyes in the lashlines and last longer in the waterliner, and it's the most pigment of the bunch! The only category where Stila wins is the pigmentation, the Stila is just a tad bit more pigmented, but the Maybelline one is right there with the Stila in pigmentation. You guys need to seriously get this stuff! What's better is that this stuff only cost P359 which is about $6-7! Really affordable!!!

1st row: Stila Kajal Liner

2nd and 3rd row: Maybelline 2in1 Impact Shadow Liner in black and dark purple, respectively.

1st column: Liners were vigorously rubbed wet for 3 minutes.

2nd column: Freshly applied liners

3rd column: Maybelline 2in1 Impact Liner in black

As you can see in the first column, the Maybelline one retained more pigment after being rubbed wet than that of the Stila Kajal Liner.

This eyeliner is 9.5 stars out of 10 since there's always room for improvement, though there's very little need for this to be improved. This is my perfect liner! Luveet!

BTW I went back earlier to Watson's to grab another one of of the black one! Since the stocks at the Maybelline counter was replenished, I was also able to get the Eyestudio quad I was eyeing along with other Maybelline stuff and Revlon items. I'll post my drugstore haul next time so watch out for it! I'm beginning to like drugstore makeup again, though there would still be stuffs/brands that I will continue to despise unless they put their act together and give us decent quality products!

I'm doing a project 5 pan starting today, so the drugstore haul might be my last haul for this year, but I might finish up 5 items sooner than I expected since I have several makeup I've hit pan and my Clinique 3 step is nearly finished- just 2 more weeks use. Let's just see if I will be able to shop one more time before the year finally comes to an end.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation Review

This is a review of one of MAC's latest addition in its foundation range.

I'm going to review the MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation.

This particular foundation has a concealer counterpart - Studio Sculpt Concealer.

I like the foundation, but I love the concealer, which I'll review soon!

The MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation has a mousse-y / aerated thick gel consistency.

This stuff doesn't give the lightest feel but doesn't give a heavy feel.

This foundation is concentrated with pigments that I only need a pea size, even when I need to cover up numerous blemishes. It also provides medium to a full coverage.

I don't even need concealer when I use this.

Even if it gives good coverage, this foundation gives a nice finish to the skin.

This can look cake-y if excessively used, but you barely can overuse this stuff.

I really like that even after long hours of wear, my face still looks fresh.

However, this stuff doesn't provide any oil control. I need to blot my face for just an hour of wear. Using primer that's meant for oil control is highly recommended.

People with drier skin may enjoy this, since its more of hydrating instead of mattifying.

This foundation also have a better transfer resistance than that of Studio Fix Fluid, but stiil there's still room to improve on under this category.

Doesn't settle on to the fine lines or the flaky ares in the skin.

I haven't tried its waterproof capacity yet- that's to follow.

My skin didn't react to this foundation, but I heard people gets bad reaction with the shea butter in this foundation.

I found that this applies smoothly, flawlessly, and seamlessly when I use my MAC 180 or ELF Studio Powder Brush.

Due to it's formula containing SPF, it will give you a whitish cast when used in flash photography. But when used under normal lighting, it photography fairly well.

I like that it's on a squeeze tube rather than the normal bottle packaging, since I can travel more easily with this and less tendency to break.

Verdict:

I like this foundation, but not enough for me to love.

6.5/10

I would recommend this for people with normal or dry skin.

But if you have oily skin and don't mind blotting once in a while, then I say go ahead and grab one!

Shu Uemura Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation Review

This is a review of the shu uemura face architect smoothing fluid foundation.

This is one of my favorite foundation.

This foundation has a slightly thick liquid consistency.

I really like that this is water based but with a more thicker consistency than with other water based foundation. There are lots of times when foundation accidentally drips at the back of my hand or in a palette since it's too liquidy (this happens alot when I use my Clinique Superfit and my NARS Oil Free Foundation). With this one, no mess!

Even with the thicker consistency, this feels so light even lighter than the Clinique Superfit.

This foundation also gives a great coverage, better than the Clinique Superfit.

This is the only water based foundation that I have tried that gives similar coverage to oil based foundation.

This stuff is perfect for summer, when you don't want to pile makeup.

This also gives a good oil control - atleast 6 hours shine free face.

I also like that this gives my face a nice glow, but not overly dewy finish.

This is also about 90% transfer resistant even with my super oily skin!

The best thing I like about this foundation is that it makes my face look fresh all day even under the scorching heat!

I must say that this stuff is true to its name that it is smoothing. There was a time that I got tons of super small bumps in my jaw and upper cheek and this was the only foundation that helps to conceal the look / texture of it. (BTW I got those bumps from MAC Face Protector SPF50.)

You also won't get the sticky feeling on your face even when you don't set this powder.

Blush and what not goes and blend smoothly too even when not set with powder.

For oily skin, I suggest to set this with powder to help with oil control, but people with drier skin can skip this step. For dry skin people, this stuff is amazing since it feels hydrating and doesn't gather around the flaky areas of the skin!

No breakouts on this foundation too!

One more thing, this is the best foundation I have for photography! I had my picture taken for my sister's debutante ball and the photographer/owner of the studio really like how this foundation looks on the skin/photo and even asked me where to buy this foundation as he will buy some for his makeup team!

Another plus of this product that it has a pump so virtually no wastage!

Verdict:

This is a light weight, oil free, transfer resistant, hard working, and hydrating but has a good oil control foundation. This stuff makes me photogenic :)What more can you ask for? Love this stuff!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Review

This is a review of the MAC Studio Fix Foundation.

Unlike the first two foundations I've reviewed, I must warn you that I don't love this even half way as I loved those foundation. Better read on to find out why...

The MAC Studio Fix Fluid has a very thick liquid consistency. Actually, this has the thickest consistency out of all the foundations I've tried.

With that being said, this stuff feels so heavy on the skin! When I use this stuff, I feel like I'm wearing a mask and it feels like its suffocating my skin! This stuff also cakes up easily. However, this foundation has a really good coverage. It covers everything! That's one of the reason why this is really popular among the TV and print industry. Even though this has SPF, I didn't find that it gives that whitish cast when used on flash photography. I must say it photographs really good.

I really have oily skin and this foundation can keep me shine free for just the first three hours regardless if I set it with powder or not.

This foundation needs to be set with powder or else you'll be left with a bit of a sticky feel, and you'll have a hard time blending in your blush, contour, highlight and what not.

I find that this foundation is best applied using a damp sponge, and damp dense fluffy brushes. Since water would thin out the consistency a bit and the foundation wouldn't feel as heavy as it would on the skin.

I feel that this foundation melts a bit when its used in a super warm environment, but not excessively though.

This stuff isn't transfer resistant too, actually I think that this stuff has almost a ninety percent probability that it would transfer into the surface it makes contact to.

This stuff do gather around flakey/dry patches of the skin so do moisturize first before using this!

I heard alot of people having bad reaction to this foundation, and I am one of them unfortunately. I get acne even after just a few minutes of wearing this foundation. I used this for one straight week and my face was filled with acne! After that I consulted a dermatologist and she freaked out and scolded me badly when she learned that I was using this foundation!

BTW you need to buy a separate pump with it. For me, it's fine as long as it's available! Which sucks for us here in the Philippines since our MAC doesn't carry the pump for ages now!

2 points for giving incredible coverage and 2 points for how well it photographs.

I wouldn't mind using this up, even with its heavy feeling on the skin and even if it cakes up easily, if only this doesn't ruin my skin and cause me to breakout so bad!

Make Up Forever Face and Body Liquid Makeup Review

Today,the spotlight is on Make Up Forever Face and Body Liquid Makeup.

Before I begin, I just want to tell you that I really like this foundation. Why? Read on...

The Make Up Forever Face and Body Liquid Makeup has more of a gel than a cream texture. However, this foundation has a fluidy gel consistency rather than a thick gel consistency like the MAC Studio Sculpt. The foundation comes out like a fluidy blob of really soft Jello if not shaken, so shake the bottle of foundation prior using the foundation to liquify the foundation thoroughly.

This foundation can give sheer to medium coverage and medium to full coverage. This foundation when applied gives a sheer coverage, but can be layered for a heavier coverage. I find that this foundation no matter how much you layer on will not look cakey. This is the most buildable foundation I've tried. This foundation is so light, you wouldn't mind layering it on. I've tried using different brushes with this and I find that using my MAC 180 or shu uemura #18 foundation brush gave me that airbrushed, flawless, and seamless look. What I also like with this foundation is when blended into the skin, it sort of like "become" your skin, so it's really natural looking. I find that it's the foundation that most easily blend into my skin and doesn't give me that mask look even when I use shades lighter than my skintone - in short it's very forgivable!

The formula in this foundation is so amazing (Take note it's oil free)!

It's sweatproof, waterproof, transfer resistant- even with my oil slick face, and can resist high humidity! I have used this when I went to the gym, I swam with it, jog with it, and did more strenuous activities, and to my surprise it didn't bulge!

This stuff photographs really well too!

With this foundation, you don't need to set it with powder since it sets it self. Once this stuff dries, it will transform into a satiny smooth finish. I also find that this stuff doesn't settle into fine lines, though it may gather around extremely peeling skin, so to those with extremely peeling and flaky skin, I suggest you moisturize properly before using this. This has a good oil control too it leaves my skin shine free for atleast 5 hours - used without any powder on top to atleast 9 hours when set with powder. btw I have super oily skin!

The only problem I encountered with this foundation is wastage. Since, this product doesn't have a pump nor a pout controlling the amount of product can be a problem. So I suggest getting a long spatula if you plan to buy this foundation.

I love this as much as the Clinique Superfit. I love Clinique Superfit for its instant coverage while I love this MUFE Face and Body Foundation for it's extreme long wearing ability. Whenever I get lazy I use my Clinique, but when I want super long staying power and I have time to spare I use this!

Verdict:

8.5/10

I will repurchase this!

I would give this a 10 if they improved the packaging to prevent wastage.

Clinique Superfit Makeup Foundation Review

I would start a series of foundation reviews with Clinique Superfit Makeup.

What Clinique claims:

"High performance makeup. Stays smooth all day, come stress or high humidity. Oil-free."

My take on the Clinique Superfit Makeup:

This is the first liquid foundation that I bought, repurchased, and will keep repurchasing.

My shade in this foundation is 05 Neutral.

The texture of this foundation is really watery and light (as you can see in this picture).

As watery as it seems, believe it or not this foundation have a moderate to full coverage depending on the method and amount you'll use. I use a stippling brush for a lighter coverage and I use a regular paddle foundation brush for heavier coverage. However, lately I discovered that this works best with the use of really dense fluffy brush like the MAC 180, 182, 109, Smashbox Face and Body brush, and ELF Studio Powder brush. By using these dense and fluffy brush, you can get that airbrushed look. This is also the foundation that you can get that airbrushed finish easily. You don't have to buff really hard like other foundation to get that airbrushed look.

This foundation is so fluidy it mix really well with moisturizer for your custom made tinted moisturizer! I even mixed it once with my body butter and a bit of bronzing powder for my legs.

This foundation also gives a really natural finish. When blended well, it will look like skin, so you couldn't look overly made up.

I really like the fact that this is oil free and does break me out. I also find that this is quite versatile foundation, since my sister and I use this. My sister have super dry skin while I have extremely oily skin, but this foundation works for the both of us! For me that's amazing! Makeup artists could save with this products, coz this foundation will suit any skin type.

I like that this foundation can set itself. You don't really need to set if with powder. However, setting it with powder will help with its oil control power. Without setting it with powder, my face is shine free for 4 hours, but when I set it with powder, my face looks shine free for atleast 6 hours.

I must agree that this stuff is long wearing. Living in the Philippines, I am exposed to extreme humidity, and this foundation really stays put. I have worn this foundation for straight 18 hours without retouching it with powder but using just powder free blotting sheets if I get shiny, and the foundation was pretty much there. What's even better that it is so lightweight that I can wear it for such a long time without feeling I have makeup on, and it gives incredible finish and coverage!

One possible con in this product is its lack of sun protection. I'm fine with this because I use sunscreen even if my foundation has SPF in it. I find that the lack of SPF gives the product more versatility, since you can use this more readily for flash photography, since foundation with SPF usually gives a whitish cast when photographed. BTW this stuff photographs really really well!

Another con is the packaging, though it has a pout, the foundation is so watery it still gets messy and there would be foundation all over the cap and the pout. They should have provided a pump to come with this foundation.

One tip: shake before using to avoid streakiness.

Verdict: I love this stuff and I would repurchase this over and over again!

Whenever I get breakouts from other foundation, I always come back to this since I think this is the only foundation that doesn't worsen my breakouts.

8/10 since there's still much to improve on the packaging and improved oil control would be great too!

On a lighter note, you probably already saw on my last haul post that I got the MUFE HD powder and promised to do a comparison with a no brand silica powder. So, here it is! Hope this will help!

WEAR TIME

Both has similar length of wear time. These doesn't last all day long, so you need to reapply every once in a while. So, if you're looking for setting powders to make your makeup last, silica powders are not for you. However, if you're interested in the silica powders for aesthetics and for photography, then go ahead, you'll not be disappointed!

MY THOUGHTS:

I personally prefer the MUFE one since my skin tends to be sensitive at times and the MUFE one feels better in those times. But, for the times that I have normal skin conditions, then I wouldn't mind using the no brand silica spheres. For those with dry skin, I suggest getting the MUFE one, but for oily skin you may settle for the no brand one. For those who wants the best pampering for the skin and doesn't mind the price tag then go for the MUFE one. But if you want the same effect, doesn't want to spend that much, and doesn't mind the slight difference in feel and texture, I strongly suggest to go for the no brand one!

I bought this primarily for my MAC pressed e/s; however, I just realized that the MAC pans are made out of aluminum so it isn't magnetic... I'll probably just buy some magnetic sheets for it :P

Urban Decay Mini Haul/Review (Found my HG lipgloss!) & Mini Blog Sale & Announcement

Here's what I bought!

2 pieces each of Pocket Rocket Lipglosses in Eric, James, and Timothy!

I found my new HG Lipglosses!

These are definitely HG material!

Here's a review & why this toppled my previous HG MAC Dazzleglass and Cremesheenglass!

What Urban Decay Say about these glosses:

My take on these:

I wuuuvvvvv them!!!

I've tried them before (from a friend) and fell in love ever since!

First, the packaging... I love the packaging!

Again, not because of those hot undressing dudes nor the pheromones, but because the shape of the tube is so genius! It's so pocket friendly and let me tell you that this won't get lost in your purse!

Next, These have the consistency of the Dazzleglasses, but none of the stickiness!

The scent in these glosses is to DIE FOR!!!

These glosses smell amazing and yummy! These smell not really like creme brulee but more of a caramel and just a hint of the creme brulee or flan scent!

These glosses taste a bit sweet too!

These glosses differ in pigmentation depending on which shade you pick, which is great meaning you have more to choose from!

These have extremely wonderful brush applicator! The brush holds just the right amount of product!

These glosses pretty much last longer than Dazzleglasses!

And yes, the hyaluronic spheres works! It makes your lips fuller a bit (without stinging) in a sense that your lips will look more defined!

And these hyaluronic spheres are amazing because it completely plumped up the tiny cracks or lines in my lips and my lips looked perfect!!! (No joke!)

These glosses doesnt contain glitters or shimmers but it contains glowing (not the glow in the dark type) materials one of its kind!

Plus, you get 0.27 oz per tube which is 4.5 times more than you get on a Dazzleglass!

I haven't tried seducing men using the pheromones, but I'll update you on that! JOKE! LOL

James (Sheer bright pink with pretty ultraviolet glow) Sheerest of the three...

Timothy (Very Pigmented Coral Pink with Pink glow) Most pigmented of the three...

Eric (Sheer Unique Red) This one is between Timothy and James pigmentation range wise... This one is the essential among the bunch, since this will give you that just bitten lips! I haven't found any gloss that have this shade of red!

The reason why I bought 2 pieces of each is that these glosses are so so good that it pains me that only some people in the Philippines could get a hold of these glosses...

So I'm selling these 3 glosses to anybody interested for 1200PHP each..

Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation Review

What I like about this product:

Contains SPF 22 - only few foundation contains as high SPF factor as this foundation
Stays on for hours with or without primer
Didn't broke me out
Neutralizes redness like no other
Does what it says that it suspends over fine lines and wrinkles thus reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Doesn't crease
I didn't oil up for quite awhile with or without primer
I get compliments when I wear this foundation. My friends saying that I was blooming and in love. LOL
Transfer resistant

What I don't like about this product:

Hard to blend using sponge provided or sometimes even with foundation brush. To over come this problem, I mist my foundation brush with my MAC Fix+ or shu uemura depsea facial mist or Evian facial mist and then apply the foundation.
Not as creamy as I would want it to be
A bit non hygienic since more or less you will re-dip your brush or sponge
Though it doesn't settle into the fine line and wrinkles it won't glide over your acne
Though it neutralizes redness, it doesn't cover dark spots well
May settle in your pores when you overblend or overbuff, which is easily done since as I have said it's hard to blend , so I prefer using a silicone based primer, I using my like Smashbox Photo Finish Primer or Clinique Instant Perfector, to fill up those pores.
May aggravate the look of dry, flaky areas of the skin, so moisturize your face well before using this
I didn't see any improvement in the line in m forehead

I used this product for a straight two and a half weeks, and just stopped using this not because I hate this stuff but because I found another product more suitable for my needs. (I'll review that next!) Overall it's alright, as I said I don't hate it but I don't love it either. There's also a blush variant of this. I don't recommend buying the blush since as I said, the texture isn't really creamy and its hard to blend, go figure.

I'm out of my HG Clinique Super City Block and I can't go to malls carrying Clinique so I just grabbed these... I was amazed that this didn't broke me out or added oiliness to my skin...

Maybe I'll just switch to Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Facial Sunblock, since it has a high UV spectrum and 1/4 the cost of my Clinique one... However, what I like most about my Clinique is that is provides a bit of coverage and neutralizes redness...

Nail Gradient Tutorial

Hey beauties!

This post is for you nail addicts!

I'm going to show you how I create the gradient nail effect.

Let's start!

Base coat was applied (not pictured). Apply 1 coat of any shimmery/glittery sheer nail polish.

I used OPI Princess Rules!

Grab a nail polish darker and more opaque than your sheer polish.

I used OPI Pompeii Purple

Dab some of the nail polish to a sponge.

Dab the sponge with the nail polish in three fourths of the nails.

Grab another nail polish darker than the 2nd nail polish you used.

I used Orly Velvet Rope.

On another side of the sponge, dab some nail polish.

Dab the sponge with nail polish half way through your nails.

Grab another nail polish darker than the 3rd nail polish used.

I used Orly Goth.

Dab a small amount to another part of the sponge.

Dab the sponge in the tips of your nails.

You may finish it off by applying another coat of the sheer nail polish you've used then followed by your top coat or directly seal it with a top coat.

I applied a thin coat of OPI Princess Rules! and topped my nails with Seche Vite top coat.

That's it! Easy huh?
